The first licensed racecar driver with Type 1 Diabetes to compete in and win an IndyCar race, he re-engineered his racing approach by integrating a continuous glucose monitor into his car’s data system, allowing him to read his blood sugar at speeds of 200 mph.
That instinct to invent wasn’t new. It runs in the Kimball family.
From machines that helped farmers improve their harvests to the first semi-automatic sequential gearbox for Formula 1, still used in racing today, innovation has always been part of Charlie’s DNA.
